Lensometer

A lensometer is used to measure the exact optical power of an existing pair of glasses, including the sphere, cylinder, and axis of any corrective lens, as well as the position of bifocal or progressive segments. This is especially useful when you bring in an old pair of glasses and want to know your previous prescription, verify the accuracy of newly made lenses before they leave our lab, or compare changes in your prescription over time. The process is quick and non-invasive — your glasses are simply placed on the instrument, and readings are taken automatically or manually by our optical staff. Lensometry helps ensure that every pair of glasses dispensed from IrisCare meets exact prescription standards before reaching you.
