This test measures your peripheral (side) vision to detect blind spots or areas of vision loss that you may not notice in daily life. During the test, you’ll look straight ahead into the machine and press a button whenever you see a small flash of light appear in your field of vision. It’s simple, painless, and takes about 5–10 minutes per eye. The results help our doctors detect and monitor conditions like glaucoma, as well as certain neurological conditions that affect vision, such as those caused by stroke or tumors. Because glaucoma often causes gradual peripheral vision loss before central vision is affected, this test is essential for catching the disease early and tracking how it changes over time.
