We believe you should never feel uncertain about what is happening or what comes next. Here is exactly what you can expect at every stage of your care.

Booking Your Appointment

You can book whichever way suits you. Our online booking form (/book-appointment/) lets you request an appointment any time, and we confirm within a couple of business hours. You can also call us during opening hours, or message us on WhatsApp for fast, easy scheduling. Need to reschedule? Just call or message — no fuss.

Pre-Appointment Preparation

Before your visit, we will let you know what to bring: a valid ID, your HMO card if applicable, any previous prescription, your current glasses or contacts, and a list of medications. If we expect to use dilating drops, we will advise you to arrange transport or bring someone with you, as your vision may be temporarily blurred.

Arrival & Check-In

When you arrive at our Dopemu clinic, our front desk team will welcome you, complete a quick registration (or update your details if you are returning), verify your HMO where relevant, and give you an idea of your wait time. We work hard to keep waits short.

Pre-Examination Workup

Before you see the optometrist, an assistant takes some initial measurements — an automated estimate of your prescription and a non-contact eye pressure reading — and notes your main symptoms. This makes your consultation more focused and efficient.

Your Consultation with the Optometrist

This is the heart of your visit. Your optometrist takes a detailed history, then carries out the clinical tests that make up your comprehensive eye examination (/services/eye-examination/). The pace is unhurried and comfortable, and there is always time for your questions.

Diagnosis & Discussion

We explain what we have found in plain English — no jargon, no rushing. Where it helps, we will show you your own results, such as retinal images, so you can see what we are describing. We discuss treatment options, write a prescription if you need one, and talk through any referral.

Eyewear Consultation
(If Required)

If you need glasses, our dispensing team helps you choose a frame from our collection of over 900, recommends the right lens type and any useful coatings, and is completely transparent about pricing. For most prescriptions, your glasses can be ready the same day.

Dispensing & Fitting

Through our on-the-spot glazing, we cut and fit your lenses in our inhouse lab, then adjust the finished glasses so they sit comfortably and correctly. New to glasses or contact lenses? We will guide you through wearing and caring for them.

Aftercare & Follow-Up

We will recommend when to come back, tell you what to watch for after starting a new prescription, and explain how to reach us with any concerns. Your records are kept securely on file in line with the NDPR.
