OCT Scanner (Optical Coherence Tomography)

The OCT Scanner uses light waves to capture cross-sectional images of the retina in fine detail, layer by layer. During your visit, you’ll sit comfortably while the scanner takes quick, painless images of the back of your eye, no contact, no discomfort. These images allow our doctors to detect early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other retinal diseases often before symptoms appear or vision changes are noticeable. Because OCT can measure the thickness of the optic nerve and retinal layers with precision, it’s especially valuable for tracking disease progression over time and monitoring how well treatment is working. It’s a quick, non-invasive scan that takes just a few minutes and requires no special preparation.
